Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP)

The first week of the four-week Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) involves a five-day residential retreat on Personal Development and Achievement Motivation Training during which the entrepreneurs are engaged in the following sessions:

  • Team Building
  • Business Planning
  • Leadership Development
  • Thematic Apperception Test
  • Who's To Blame
  • Self Esteem
  • Introduction to Business & Business Plan Layout
  • Interface with or discussion on successful entrepreneurs
  • Business Planning Collage

The second and third weeks comprise the following sessions which run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Survey for Business Identification
  • Schemes and Assistance Panel Discussions
  • How to identify Available Business Opportunities
  • Business Opportunity Guidance
  • Steps for Setting up Small Business
  • Tools and Techniques for Market Survey
  • Individual Counseling on Business Venture
  • Field Market Survey
  • Presentation of Market Survey Reports
  • Discussion and Counseling on Market Survey Findings
  • Marketing Skills
  • Record Keeping
  • Cash Flow and Break Even Analysis
  • Assessment of Working Capital
  • Costing and Pricing
  • Factory Act and Labor Laws

The fourth/final week comprises the following sessions:

  • Interface with Successful Entrepreneurs
  • Preparation of Business Plan Proposal
  • Individual Counseling on Business Plan
  • Formalities for Loan Disbursement
  • Dealing with Business Challenges
  • Presentation on analysis of participants highlighting their Risk Tendencies; Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) Motives; and Entrepreneurial Orientation Inventory (EOI)
  • Evaluation
